Alternative to Direct Debit

Mobilise lets charities recruit and communicate with donors purely via the supporter’s mobile phone. As such it is an alternative method of giving to Direct Debit. Indeed, donors giving by the system have told Open Fundraising that they appreciate the ability to skip a monthly payment if they wish or need to, a function not available to people who give by Direct Debit.
Charities can use the system to design supporter journeys with the aim of reducing attrition. They can send supporters MMS messages and send SMS messages that are longer than 160 characters.
Mobilise’s analytical tool Analyse helps fundraisers understand which recruitment channels are working best by gift value, retention and other factors.
Paul de Gregorio, Head of Mobile at Open Fundraising, said: “Hitting a million pounds raised for our clients so quickly is an achievement we’re all really proud of. With more clients in the pipeline and some brilliant new uses of Mobilise being planned, we hope the second million pounds is raised much more quickly”.
