Heart Research UK urges workers to ‘wear your shorts’ to work for a day

Howard Lake | 28 July 2014 | News

Heart Research UK has launched a new summer fundraising campaign with its ‘Wear Your Shorts to Work Day’ on Friday 22 August 2014.
The charity is inviting workers to start the August Bank Holiday Weekend early and wear shorts to work – smart shorts, beach shorts, cycling short, funny shorts, they don’t mind.
The money raised will support its Helping Little Hearts Appeal. In addition, money raised will be spent locally at specialist heart centres for children.

Participants in Wear Your Shorts to Work Day are asked to ask family, friends and colleagues for donations or suggest they text their donation to Heart Research UK.
Heart Research UK’s National Director, Barbara Harpham said:

“Everything raised will go towards giving rehabilitation to children following heart surgery to make sure they have the best chance of living healthier, happier, longer lives”.

They are hoping that participants will share pictures of their shorts on the day via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #shortie.
