Spider-Man record-breaking gathering raises funds for Help for Heroes

Fancy dress company Escape has set a new Guinness World Record™ for the largest gathering of people dressed as Spider-Man, raising several hundred pounds for Help the Heroes in the process.
The event took place at the University of London’s Student Central during Fresher’s Fayre on 2 October. A total of 398 people arrived and donned Spider-Man costumes officially licensed by Marvel Comics.
Students and anyone else who wanted to join in were given the costumes at the event in return for a donation to Help the Heroes.
The setting of a Guinness World Record title follows a similar event in Summer 2013 when Escapade achieved a record-breaking 867 people gathering, all dressed as Superman.

Sue Clack, from Help For Heroes, said:

“With so many of our heroes still needing as much support as possible, these kind of events really matter. It’s so important to involve as many people as possible, this is the perfect opportunity to make a change for those in need.”
