GoRaise lets Movember fundraisers raise funds through online shopping

GoRaise is supporting the Movember Foundation, enabling Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to link their Movember fundraising page with a GoRaise account. Anything they or their friends buy online via the link will trigger additional donations directly into their personal fundraising totals.
At the very least, plenty of Movember supporters will need to buy a shaving razor and some shaving balm at the end of their month-long fundraising effort.
The link to GoRaise will remain active as long as the fundraising page is live, so donations can continue beyond the month of Movember.
All donations raised through GoRaise are free. The retailer makes the donation from each sale generated. There are over 2,500 participating retailers.
GoRaise itself is offering a £200 prize donation to one member of the MoCommunity who uses GoRaise.

Bespoke challenger campaigns

There are of course other online shopping sites that raise funds for charities. Gary Thompson, CEO of GoRaise, acknowledged this and explained why GoRaise is different. He said:

We have thousands of retailers on board including John Lewis, M&S, Boots, Argos, eBay and tonnes more – and every time you buy from them, they donate a percentage of the purchase price to your cause, as a thank you.
“What we’re doing differently is designing bespoke challenger campaigns. Giving fatigue is rife, and GoRaise is a great way to to help people reach their fundraising goals. We work closely with charities and retailers to design unique online experiences for their supporters and customers, that add more value with no extra cost or effort. This means supporting big fundraising campaigns like Movember to help people raise more money; and it means working with retailers to design unique deals for the things our community want to buy.”

The company recently undertook a similar fundraising partnership with the National Parks Campaign which engaged an audience of over 20,000 people through a targeted social media campaign.
GoRaise aims to reach £500,000 in donations in its first year, by creating more national collaborations, and by supporting small local causes such as sports clubs and PTAs. There is no charge to register.
