£13,000 donated online at AllAboutGiving.org to BBC Children in Need

Online donations can be made not only via a charity's Web site but also by the various online giving sites, such as AllAboutGiving.org.

This year, £13,000 alone was given to the BBC Children in Need campaign through Charities Aid Foundation's AllAboutGiving.org. Over 300 people made donations online at the site to children's charity.

New appointments at The Giving Campaign

The Giving Campaign has announced two new staff members.

Phillip Mind joins The Giving Campaign as Campaign Manager for Strategy and Operations on secondment from the Treasury. His key role will be to lead the Campaign in raising financial advisers' awareness of tax-effective giving and developing planned giving products.

Diabetes UK attracts employees from 23 companies with online payroll giving

Since launching its online payroll giving option in August 2002 Diabetes UK has attracted 23 donors from 23 companies.

Diabetes UK teamed up with Bmycharity.com to offer online payroll giving from their Web site, thereby enabling employees and members of company pension schemes to start giving tax-efficiently directly from their pay.

REACH focuses on encouraging people with disabilities to volunteer

David Hart has been appointed National Co-ordinator at REACH to focus the charity's volunteer matching service on people with disabilities.

REACH recruits managers and professionals with time to give and places them as part-time, expenses-only volunteers with voluntary organisations needing their career expertise. The service is free both to volunteers and voluntary organisations.
