Anderson Manning Associates wins NCDL outbound calling contract

Northern Ireland-based direct marketing agency Anderson Manning Associates has been awarded the National Canine Defence League's (NCDL) Sponsor A Dog outbound calling contract.



The contract will cover a variety of campaigns including all lapsed reactivation, upgrades and a rolling programme of reminder calls to 'Sponsor a Dog' enquirers.

Emma joins Direct Marketing Association

The Email Marketing Association (Emma) is to merge with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

The two organisations have clearly patched up their differences. Emma will now become the DMA Email Marketing Council, a division of the DMA, with a 15-member board.

Cats Protection is the cat's whiskers for New Media Age

The charity's Web site has been redesigned as part of its 75th birthday celebrations. Reviewer Claire Armitt is fortunately quite taken with the Flash introduction of an animated cat, but admits it "doesn't really perform any practical function."

New chair for Institute of Fundraising SW Group

Jonathan Farnhill has been elected as the new Chair of the Institute of Fundraising South West Group.

Jonathan is Director of Funding for St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth. He succeeds Siôn Lutley who served as Chair for over five years and will continue to be a member of the Committee. Siôn is now Deputy Development Director at the University of Bristol.

Appealmaster to Raiser's Edge conversion

Blackbaud Europe have published an overview of the issues involved for Appealmaster users in converting to Raiser's Edge.

The overview is in the form of a Powerpoint presentation by Brad May, Integration Manager at Blackbaud Europe which was shown recently at a series of seminars for Appealmaster clients throughout the UK.

Scottish epilepsy charity renames

Epilepsy Action Scotland is changing its name to Epilepsy Scotland.

According to CharityWeek, the charity hopes to end the confusion caused when the British Epilepsy Association (BEA)changed its name to Epilepsy Action in May this year. To avoid appearing to be the Scottish arm of the BEA, Epilepsy Action Scotland dropped the word "Action" from its name.

3,300 charities registered with GiveNow.org

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) reports that over 3,300 charities have registered with GiveNow.org, its online giving site run in association with AOL UK and AOL Time Warner Foundation.

It makes sense to take up CAF's offer of a free listing on the site given that it is being promoted to AOL UK's large customer base as its preferred charitable giving Web site.
