CAF and NCVO join forces on charitable giving research programme

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) have joined forces to manage a new two-year programme of research on charitable giving.

Community Fund publishes its Annual Report for 2001-02

The national lottery distributor reports that it made grants of over £351 million to 7,557 groups.

This brings their total distribution from launch in 1995 to March 2002 to £2,272,199,655 to 48,977 projects.

Accountancy firm Horwath Clark Whitehill (HCW) is spinning off its management consulting practice, Horwath Consulting as an independent organisation. Horwath Consulting has served a wide range of charity clients, and was particularly active in providing Internet and IT consultancy to charities and membership bodies over the past few years.

BT Community Connections Award opens third round of grants

Applications are now being accepted for the third round of BT Community Connections, the nationwide community award scheme designed to help communities get connected to the Internet.

New online toolkit for Scottish voluntary sector staff and volunteers

The Scottish COuncil for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) has launched the "Voluntary Management Essentials website."

The site, a sub-section of the SCVO Web site, says that it offers "a wide range of free, reliable information on all aspects of setting up and running a voluntary organisation in Scotland."

Web resource for Scottish volunteer managers

The Scottish Association of Volunteers Managers (SAVM) has launched its Web site.



The SAVM is the professional association for volunteers managers in Scotland, and their new Web site follows in the wake of their conference last month. It was given a start-up grant and three years funding by the Scottish Executive.
