The National Deaf Children's Society has launched a viral email game to promote its fundraising adventures around the world.

smartchange helps RBS Group win payroll giving award

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group won this year's won prestigious Pay Award for Payroll Giving with some technological help from Smartchange.

The Award was presented to Alan Richardson and Jane McDonagh of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group at the ceremony for the payroll profession held at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square on Monday 24-November-2003.

1,400 square feet of office space available free for two years

Third Sector reports that a London advertising agency is offering 1,400 square feet of office space rent-free to a charity for two years.

The agency, Karmarama, is donating the final two years of its lease on its office in London's Chalk Farm.

eBay billionaire funds centre for social business at Oxford

Jeff Skoll, former president of online auction company eBay, has donated £4.4 million to the Said Business School to research businesses that trade for social benefit.

The donation was made the Skoll Foundation which has $300m under investment. Skoll himself has been ranked the fourth wealthiest person under 40 by Fortune magazine.

Diabetes UK creates senior marketing role

Diabetes UK has appointed Dawn Jackson as its first director of membership and marketing, with responsibility for marketing, corporate and community fundraising and supporter relations.

Dawn joins Diabetes UK from Leisure Connection, which manages facilities on behalf of local authorities and organisations such as Sport England.

The Institute of Fundraising has welcomed the announcement of the draft Charities Bill in the Queen’s Speech.

Charity shop's shed is stolen

Staff at the Barnardo's charity shop in Downham, south east London, are appealing for the return of their 8ft-by-6ft shed which went missing overnight.

The shed disappeared on the night of 7/8 November, and appears to have been moved intact, somehow passing over a seven foot high fence. The shop is located on a busy road in a residential area.
