Coalfields charity boosts its fundraising team

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has strengthened its fundraising team with two appointments in Wales and Scotland.

Andrew Coutts joins the Trust as project fundraiser for Wales. He joins from ARC Charity Services which he established to prove fundraising, training and legal serices to community and voluntary group memebers.

Mental health charity MIND is the first charity to sign up as a Simply Energy affinity partner and generate funds by promoting its independent consumer advice service.

Soil Association releases new list of responders

The Soil Association has released its brand new mailing list of 41,158 responders exclusively through Occam Direct Marketing.

The new responders list from the The Soil Association, the campaigning and certification organisation for organic food and farming, is comprised of responders to various Soil Association projects, such as regular buyers of home delivered organic food boxes.

Oxfam to stop using Fairtrade label

Oxfam's pioneering Fairtrade brand, developed in the 1960s, is to be scrapped due to "commercial reasons."

Another online bookseller offers affiliate programme for schools/PTAs

Amazon has for six years been helping charities and other groups raise funds online by paying them commission for any book sales they can generate for the online bookseller. MeritMarks is another online bookseller offering a similar programme for schools and Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs).

VOLT is a new volunteer recruitment initiative aimed at Information and Communications Technology (ICT) professionals.

New trustees for CAF

Paul Myners CBE and John Stuttard MA FCA have joined the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Board of Trustees.

Paul Myners brings extensive business and finance experience

to CAF as a Director of Marks & Spencer, Wellington Reinsurance and The Bank of New York. He is a member of the Financial Reporting Council.
