Dickens £10 note no longer legal tender from tomorrow

The Dickens £10 note will not be legal tender from after today.

The Bank of England will withdraw the £10 note with a portrait of Charles Dickens on the reverse from tomorrow. If your charity still has any of these notes they should be paid promptly into a bank, Post Office or building society.

MEMBERS adds seminar programme

The Membership Management Technology Exhibition (MEMBERS), to be held in London in September 2003, will feature a seminar programme for the first time.

Now in its seventh year, MEMBERS is dedicated to the more effective and efficient management of membership and subscription organisations. The seminar programme is designed to offer a wider educational element to the event.

PKF boosts London charity and housing team

Rupert Moyle has joined the VAT team at accountants and business advisors PKF. He brings specialist knowledge of the registered social landlords and charity sectors.

Rupert joins PKF as VAT manager and is based at the firm's London head office, where he will work with clients in the charity/housing sectors on all issues related to indirect tax. PKF has 400 clients in these sectors.

RNLI promotes events Web site with link-to-us e-mail campaign

The RNLI events team is asking Web site owners to publicise the charity's fundraising events to a wider audience by
placing links on their site to the charity's loadsmorefun.co.uk site.

The promotion is being carried out by digital marketing agency M-Corp which built the loadsmorefun.co.uk site as well as two other RNLI sites, beachrescue.org.uk and beachsafety.org.uk.

Donations rise by 40% in one year at lung charity

Donations from direct mail fundraising to the British Lung Foundation (BLF) have risen by nearly 40% in one year to over £254,000, beating last year's income by £71,000.

Open Air Fundraising restructures again

Following a meeting about its company voluntary agreement (CVA), Open Air Fundraising has been purchased by Open Air Global Ltd. There was no interruption in the direct dialogue company's business.

Both Open Air Fundraising and Open Air Global Ltd are principally owned by Fruitful Fundraising LLP, the incubator for new fundraising companies.

Sky employees raise £1,500 for NSPCC with sports matches

Broadcaster Sky's Summer Tournament of staff football and netball matches has raised £1,500 for NSPCC, Sky's charity of the year.

The fundraising event was held at the Grasshopper's Rugby Club in Isleworth near Sky's HQ. Nearly 300 Sky employees participated in the netball and football tournaments consisting of 32 six a-side football teams and eight netball teams.
