Today is this site's eighth birthday. The site's original single page was published on the Web on 30 November 1994.

Free guide to funding for regeneration and renewal

Regeneration & Renewal magazine has published its free guide to funding sources for regeneration projects.

Regeneration & Renewal magazine has published its third A-Z of Funding, detailing 60 sources. The magazine doesn't claim to be comprehensive, but the 10-page guide is freely available (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format) on its Web site.

National Blood Service selects Kitcatt Nohr for direct marketing account

Creative agency Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw is to help The National Blood Service (NBS) use direct marketing to secure more regular blood donors.

Daily Mirror selects two charities for its Christmas Appeal

National mobility charity Whizz-Kidz and Chailey Heritage School in Sussex have been chosen for this year's Daily Mirror Christmas Appeal.

The appeal launches on 2 December and aims to raise around £50,000 for each charity. The newspaper will feature stories from each charity throughout December.

Latest charity-related domain name to be linked to porn

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is the latest charity to find that a related domain name has been registered and linked to a Web site containing pornographic material.

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is one of the largest independent grantmaking foundations in the UK. You can find its Web site at www.esmeefairbairn.org.uk.

Draft National Occupational Standards for fundraisers available for comment

The project to develop a common UK definition of the competencies involved in fundraising has published its draft standards and is asking fundraisers to comment on them.

Shopgood.org launches online shopping mall to raise funds for DEC

The site claims to be the first UK shopping portal to give 100% of all income to charity.

Shopgood.org says that it will be donating all its income to the Southern Africa Crisis Appeal run by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

Amnesty to launch its first direct response TV campaign

Amnesty International UK, previously banned from advertising on TV in the UK as an "unfit" organisation, is to launch its first direct response TV campaign.
