New name for CAF's Common Investment Funds

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) is renaming its Common Investment Funds to reflect better their underlying assets.

From 1 January 2004, the CAF Balanced Growth Fund will be re-titled the CAF UK Equity Growth Fund, and the CAF Income Fund will be re-titled the CAF Bond Income Fund.

Minibus free prize draw for educational establishments

SCEMES (Schools & Colleges Educational, Maintenance and Equipment Supplies) is offering a LDV MINI-BUS as a prize in a Grand Prize Draw that is open to all UK educational establishments.

The Oswestry-based organisation's prize draw will take place on 7 March 2004. There is no purchase necessary to enter the draw, and entries can be made online or by post.

Royal Horticultural Society holds its first Winter raffle

Gardening charity The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has raised £85,000 through its first ever Winter Raffle.

One hundred thousand RHS members were asked to buy tickets, and 75,000 were sold, generating £20,000 more income than the £65,000 target.

The pilot raffle was restricted to a random selection of the RHS's 330,000
