Mike Lake appointed Trustee of the Air Ambulance Foundation

Mike Lake, Director General of Help the Aged, has been appointed as a Trustee of the recently launched Air Ambulance Foundation.

Lake's charity interests include the interface between governance and management, the growing commercial nature of the sector and the role of charities in society.

NCVO worried Olympic funding could divert lottery funds from good causes

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations has called for the protection of lottery funding for good causes from diversion to the British Olympics.

"The National Lottery's existing commitment to the good causes must be honored and new lottery games must not be allowed to undermine income to the existing good causes", said NCVO Chief Executive,
Stuart Etherington.

Foresters Big Toddle for Barnardo's was launched today.

The Foresters Big Toddle For Barnardo's involves over 100,000 children aged 0 to five years walking half a mile to raise
money for other children in the UK. The children will 'toddle' all over the
country through 23 organised toddles taking place in June.

25% would give a spare fiver to charity each month

A survey for the National Society for Epilepsy has found that more than 25% of the population would donate to charity if they had an additional £5 of spare cash every month.

However, nearly double that number would save
the additional money, while one in five would spend it on their own entertainment.

British Red Cross tests affiliate marketing online

The British Red Cross is offering Web site owners a percentage of direct debit donations that the charity's banner ads generate on their sites.
