‚€4 million gift for Irish university

Prominent businessman and former Irish attorney general Peter Sutherland has made a ‚€4 million gift to University College Dublin's law school. UCD is involved in a ‚€20 million campaign to develop a new law school at its Belfield campus.

BT Text Aid passes £100,000 target in first three weeks

BT's Text Aid Christmas fundraising campaign has raised £108,490 in the first three weeks since it launched on 1 December, passing its £100,000 target.

The campaign's income will be donated to homelessness and housing charity Shelter and Focus Ireland. With 11 days to go until the campaign ends, BT is hoping it can double its original target.

Swiss foundation makes its first major grants

Starr International Foundation, a charitable organisation based in Switzerland established this year, has announced its first major grants. It has made a $4 million grant to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to support international humanitarian work and a $1 million grant to support various charities in Switzerland.

Kissmedia announces kFundraising donor database

Romania-based Kissmedia have released kFundraising version 3.1, a fundraising and donor management software solution.

kFundraising's features include:

- donor, payment and pledge management

- import/export functions

- online credit cards and cheque processing, with more than 50 Internet payment gateways supported

Recycled printer cartridge scheme raises £78,334 for RSPCA

The Recycling Factory has donated £78,334 to the RSPCA as a result of its recycled printer cartridge donation campaign.

Former US Red Cross Online Fundraising Manager joins NPAdvisors.com

Tish Mokrzycki. former Online Fundraising Manager at the American Red Cross, has joined online fundraising consultancy NPAdvisors as a Senior Consultant.

Brokers firm raises £7.1 million for charity in one day

ICAP, "the world's largest interdealer broker", has raised £7.1 million worldwide in its one-day annual fundraising campaign, benefiting 70 charities around the world. Over the past 14 years the company has raised over £33 million for charity.

First non-American chair for CFRE

Certified Fund Raising Executive International (CFRE) has appointed the first non-American to chair its board in its 25-year history.



Andrew Day, group chief executive of UK-based Compton Fundraising Consultants, has been elected chair for 2007.
