DCSF seeks body to manage Youth Sector Development Fund

The Department for Children, Schools and Families is looking for a managing body to run its Youth Sector Development Fund (YSDF), worth about £100 million over the next three years.

The main purpose of the YSDF is to invest in building the capacity and sustainability of third sector organisations that have developed effective approaches to working with young people.

Whitewater offers ‘no win, no fee’ service to clients

Direct marketing agency Whitewater is starting off 2008 by offering a new initiative to all its clients plus 10 new ones. It will undertake a donor acquisition campaign for each client but will only take its planning, creative and project management fees if the charity uses the creative a second time.

St John Ambulance sets up new viral marketing campaign

St John Ambulance has launched a viral marketing campaign with digital direct marketing agency Squeeze.

The Save a Life campaign communicates life-saving first aid information across a mix of emails, banner ads, website information and social networking site Facebook.

Kage report 30% increase in fundraising salaries over past 10 years

Fundraisers' salaries rose by an average of 4% during 2007, according to the latest annual Fundraising Salary Survey by fundraising recruitment specialist The Kage Partnership. The largest increases were enjoyed by direct marketers.

Charity Commission offers new customer complaints procedure

If you are dissatisfied with the service delivery of the Charity Commission for England and Wales, you can now use a new procedure, which includes an option for a 'light-touch' review of a case that does not qualify for a formal review under the Commission's Decision Review procedure.

Tender announced for Research Centre for the Third Sector

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is inviting proposals for the creation of an independent, multidisciplinary Research Centre for the Third Sector. In partnership with the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) and The Barrow Cadbury Trust, £10.25 million is available for the initiative as a whole, which includes "three Capacity Building Clusters" to support the Centre.

Lloyds TSB January deadline

The next deadline for the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland is 11th January. The overall policy of the Foundation is to support underfunded charities which enable people, especially disadvantaged or disabled people, to play a fuller role in the community.

Lloyds TSB usually provides grants in the range of £1,000 to £6,000. This grant progamme will support:

The Christmas viral campaign to promote the new version of Everyclick.com's website has been named the first Adobe Website of the Day for 2008. The 'Santa Swing' gave users the chance to upload a picture of themselves and personal audio messages to become a dancing Santa that can be sent to friends.

John Grain Associates Ltd has launched a new recruitment service aimed at supporting regional charities who are wanting to recruit professional fundraisers.

Age Concern gets £1 million grant

Age Concern in Northern Ireland has received a grant of nearly £1 million from the Atlantic Philanthropies for a modernisation programme. Atlantic has made the grant under its Ageing programme.
