Direct mail fundraising could shortly get considerably more expensive for charities. According to the BBC (Royal Mail seeks stamp price rise), "Royal Mail is asking for a six pence increase in the price of UK stamps to stem losses and ensure its survival". This is one of a series of proposals it has put to regulator Postcomm this week.
If this goes ahead, then a first-class stamp will cost 38p and a second-class stamp 29p.
