Charities registered in Scotland must include registration details on documents from today onwards, according to Sandy Adirondack.
Key changes to fundraising statements, part of the Charities Act 2006, come into force today. They are not optional, and affect charities, business that carry out promotional activities with a claim that money will be generated for charity, and businesses or individuals, known as professional fundarisers, who are paid to raise money or other donations for charities.
The Code of Charity Retailing becomes mandatory for members of the Association of Charity Shops. The Code seeks to maintain high standards, good practice and public support for charity retailing.
