GUARDIAN CAREERS EVENT
We are very pleased to announce the first in our series of careers events hosted at the Guardian.
This opening event will concentrate on careers in fundraising and we have selected a very experienced panel for you to quiz on the evening.
We are running the event in association with the Institute of Fundraising.
Cost: Entry is £10 payable on the door
First come first served — only 100 places available
Where: Scott Room, The Guardian
The event will involve a panel discussion about fundraising as a career — the floor will be then open for questions and we will finish off by having a glass of wine allowing you to mingle with the panel and also talk to a number of recruitment consultants who will be in the audience. This will be a prime opportunity for you to make some contacts and ask specific questions about your career.
On the panel is:
Paul Marvell, director of learning at the Institute of Fundraising. He has been in fundraising for the past 17 years.
Joining him will be Jo Swinhoe, director of fundraising and marketing at the Alzheimer's Society. She has been a professional fundraiser for more than 15 years.
And Dr Jill Mordaunt, senior lecturer in social enterprise at the Open University Business School. Editor of the book Thoughtful Fundraising, Jill is an expert on the tensions and ambiguities that confront fundraisers.
There will also be a recruitment consultant on the panel and members of their team in the audience for you to talk to after the discussion.
Who's it for?
Everyone and anyone thinking about either moving into the sector or those already working in fundraising but looking for advice on how to develop their career.
We will also have a number of recruitment consultants ready to talk to you about positions available now and to give you advice on managing your next steps. So bring your CVs and your questions.
You must pre-register to secure your place.
