GIFT AID> Gift Aid and Databases

I am trying to work out the best way of recording Gift Aid info on our database. It is a fairly old database so hasn't got a module for the new Gift Aid scheme. What I am really after is how people are doing it conceptually - ie are you recording people having said yes, saying no (we have a box saying "I am not a taxpayer etc..." so we don't bother them again) and were either going to have a "not responded box" or assume that all those who weren't either yes or no hadn't responded and therefore we could send another form at a later date.

Along with this we are considering putting dates on this to say when they confirmed they were happy to pay tax efficiently but this could get fairly complicated if they change their mind often and the storage of multiple dates was necessary. If somebody has this module on their database and could spare the time to give me a brief rundown of the data conceptually I would be grateful. It seems that the whole system is not as simple as it first looked and certainly for us has involved a few significant changes of procedure.

Thanks
