I work for a small charity that supports people with Learning Disabilities as a project coordinator.
I am currently performing my full-time paid role aswell as several other unofficial roles because there's nobody else to do them (as is often the case with small charities).
One role is IT support and the other is marketing and promotional material design and distribution.
I am writing a proposition to the Charity manager and board of trustees to make these additional tasks into a part time post with clear responsibilities and boundries rather than the current ad-hoc situation but I know that the final decision will be based on whether there is enough funding to cover the new post.
I am trying to cover all bases with my proposal and so I am wondering whether I would be able to secure the funding myself and then make it part of the proposal (how could they say no?)
but...
I haven't ever been involved in fundraising and so I am looking for any help or advice to get me started or even to point me in the right direction.
Any help will be gratefully received.
Thank you.
(p.s. I'm staying annon just incase our official fundraiser sees this post and poo-poo's the idea before it's even off the ground as I'm sure he would!)
