I'm a regional officer for a UK based charity that recruits, trains, places and supports lay christian volunteers within projects in East Africa not too convert people but to share their professional & technical skills for two years training people to replace them.
I am trying to find funding for a number of volunteers to the tune of around £250,000 but everyone I contact including the likes of Comic Relief, Dfid etc.. all say they will only fund the projects and not the people. We are only a sending agency who work with the likes of CAFOD and Christian Aid who have already set up the projects and just need the skilled volunteers.
Does anyone have any ideas of a way around this or specific funding bodies for individuals?
