Hi there,
I wondered if anyone could offer me any advice about grant-seeking for emergency causes
I work for a UK-based charity which funds a project called the Baghdad Shelter (Iraq) and I'm trying to generate much-needed funds for the Shelter, so that it can continue to do vital work with street children and orphans, all of whom have been directly affected by the war.
I don't know where to start: it seems that few if any UK trusts will consider emergency funding, and it is understandable given that we're asking them to fund a project in a full-on war zone where there is a risk that the whole thing and the beneficiaries could be bombed at any time. We cannot claim that the project is sustainable or our outcomes will be achieved within a specific time frame.
Have only ever done development fundraising so not sure where to go from here, but am very passionate about the cause and hope to get some funding.
Any advice/suggestions would be gratefully received
Thanks
