I was wondering if anyone has had experience in progressing an application to any of the Sainsbury Family trusts, especially if it has been successful - everyone I have spoken to so far has said the door is closed unless you personally know a trustee, but they have so much money and make so many grants, I can't let it go!

I have received a grant from the Monument Trust. Found no problems in accessing the process. The assessor visited our project and confirmed their funding. No different from many other trust

Hi, Jemma
I don't know who you've been talking to, but the Sainsbury Family Trusts have well publicised criteria and procedures. A letter to one (or to the Trusts' office) will be placed with the one whose criteria best fit your cause.
However, if none of them are interested in your cause no amount of badgering will change their minds.
It's worth a very quick letter (not a full proposal - just one side of A4 - this is us, can you help?) or a phone call or e-mail, if you don't have the guides, to ask if any of the Trusts CAN help. If the answer is yes, then it's worth investing some time - otherwise, let it go, and concentrate your efforts where you might get a positive result.
Cheers
Gerry
