Average amount is a collection tin

I am putting together a proposal to hold a national flag day for 2009 - can you give me some idea of how much someone would collect in say 2 hours if they are collecting in a shopping centre - I was going to say £30.00 - Do you think that is realistic.

Collector Productivity

£30 for 2 hours is, I think, at the upper end of reasonable for a flag day collector. It's a while since I've done one, and people are now much more prepared to part with £1 coins, but I suspect the tin-shaking rules have not changed a great deal - if the collector is having fun, they'll collect more.

Fancy dress, cheerful young people in bright clothes, or some form of attraction ( I used to get a fairground organ to help) will double or better the takings.

Cheers
