Fundraising for different organisations

Appologises if thes has been asked before, but i couldn't find anything with my particular situation. I am a complete novice with fundraising.

I run a cat forum as a hobby where our main goal is to help and support the UK cat rescues to help needy cats.
As part of the forum we have cat rescue members who we fundraise for, who are either part of Cats Protection Ie a reg charity or individuals who run a rescue business and are not charity registered.

We hold regular online events for members of the forum to raise money for the rescues in these ways
1 A particular online event for one of the rescues where the money raised will either be paid directly to the rescue or i collect it and then pay all over to the rescue at the end of the event.

2 Several events in year where funds from members are collected by myself into our "rescue fund" and at the end of the event, the fund is equally distributed to various rescues.

3 We have an online shop selling cat products where all profits get disributed to various rescues.

We also would like to have a "rememerance fund" simular to as the rescue fund where donations from members are kept by me until an emergency situation arises that needs funds. Ie a cat that needs emergency treatment in rescue.

We also have some members who would like to donate regualry by DD into our recsue fund which when build up will be disributed to various rescues.

We are coming close to our 1st yearend and i have been treating it all as a business under my self assessment sole trader but i am not sure if this is the right way by law to be treating it?

We are not registered with the charity commission as we do not reach over £5000 annual income.

Any advise would be really wellcomed esp if we want to start collecting by DD from memebers etc.
