Sponsor packs

I'm on the management committee of smallish charity looking to diversify our ranges of funding. A couple of local businesses have asked us whether we have sponsorship packs - something we don't do at present but feel this might be a useful avenue to explore. Is there anywhere we can start looking in terms of what they should contain & what we should offer in return. do we asks for specifics e.g. running costs of a piece of equipment or is a more general approach acceptable e.g. £x will allow our centre to remain open for a week?
What should we offer in return - links to web pages, plaques, invites to events? really looking to establish what is normally expeed. does anyone know where we might find examples of packs already used.

Sponsor Packs
Can't help with existing packs, but generally speaking, a sponsorship pack would involve offering a list of advertising opportunities with prices.
If your organisation has a website, and the website costs you £500 per year, you may consider that £500 would be the amount to sponsor your website.
However, if you have a busy website, and it attracts visitors who are potential customers of your sponsor, the value might be 10 times that!
So I would steer clear of putting values on pieces of work or equipment, and look instead at the value of the exposure you can offer a sponsor. You may need help with this, and you may be able to get some free help from your local media, if you're lucky, to put a price on what you have to offer.
If you find that your advertising opportunities are very limited and of low value, then you are not really looking for sponsorship - it's a donation you're after, and you (and the corporate donor) are better off calling it that!
