Easysponsorship.com

Submitted by bjsoars on 6 August, 2008 - 09:18.

Hi
Has anyone had experience of the Easysponsorship.com please? We're looking for a means of gathering sponsorship for the Parents Association at my son's school & don't mind paying a percentage but we're trying to avoid paying a high set-up cost such as Bmycharity's £150.
Thank you

Hi Gerry I hope you don't

Hi Gerry

I hope you don't mind me correcting you - it is charitygiving.co.uk - .com takes you to a comparison site!

Sara

I am sure Easysponsorship is a great company

But I am always suspicious of web sites that fly against the law by not publishing their own details on their site. I have searched high and low and cannot obviously find who they are, where they are, contact details, and company reg no - all of which legally have to be on their web site.

I do not do business with people if I don't know where they are.

How do you chase them up if there's a problem.

If I missed the info then I will happily stand corrected.

Have a great day

Gathering sponsorship

Charitygiving.com works out as the most cost-effective I've yet found, provided you can wait for the money.

They're also upfront about how they generate their income - 3% of the donation, which comes out of the Gift Aid element which they claim for you - no gift aid, no fee.

Cheers

Gerry

Transaction charges

This sounds like the standard charge that the visa/mastercard/whatever centre makes for processing the transaction - so goes to them, not my charitypage.

This could be made clearer.

Transaction Fee?

I have spent 30mins reading up on mycharitypage.com and I am confused/concerned about the 2.75% transaction fee.

The site repeatedly states "My Charity Page does not take any commission or admin charges from any of the money raised." yet the 2.75% transaction fee does not seem to be passed onto the charity so they are keeping some of the money to themselves.

Now I don't expect a business to offer a donation service such as this for free, but what I find concerning is that they do not *clearly* state that whilst the service is free to the charity the donor is being charged an extra 2.75% on top of whatever they want to give to a charity.

If a charity naively recommends that their donors should donate via this free service without mentioning that the donor has to pay an extra 2.75% could that reflect negatively on the charity?

How do you feel?

Mycharitypage

Hi
I have no experience with Easysponsorship however there is a site called www.mycharitypage.com that allows individuals or organisations to set up an online page to generate sponsorship at no cost to the charity. Might be worthwhile you checking it out. I use this site regularly and am happy with it.
