Gift Aid and charity status

I just have some quick questions.
1 - To claim Gift Aid does a charity need to be a Registered Charity?
2 - To claim Gift Aid, does a charity need to be providing Public Benefit in UK only , or can it be worldwide?

Gift Aid
Hi Hasanali
You don't need to registered - it's difficult for small charities to register now, but they can claim Gift Aid.
As long as the benefit is charitable, it can be worldwide.
Definitive guidance is on the HMRC website, and it's they with whom you need to register for GA.
