I'd like to hear from people who have signed up to either of these as to whether they thought it worthwhile - particularly in Scotland. I've found in the past these type of subscriptions have been biased toward organisations which fund in England only and haven't had much luck with researching into funds for Scottish organisations and the arts.

New Trusts Update and Invisible Grantmakers
I subscribe to Invisible Grantmakers (and I used to edit New Trusts Update). As I understand things, they both cover charities registered with the Charity Commission (of England & Wales), and do not include any registered with Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). It is much harder to research charities registered with OSCR, as you have to apply to individual charities for accounts, etc., unless they have a website, or are limited companies.
I find Invisible Grantmakers very useful for its coverage of established grantmakers. New Trusts Update covers newly registered charities. Many of which will not have funds for a while, or still be formulating their grantgiving policy.
They are quite different products, and both are pretty good, I think.
Have you also checked the SCVO directory of grants and funds for Scotland, available free via KnowUK? I believe DSC is updating its Guide to Scottish Trusts this year.
