I recently took over the role of claiming gift aid on donations made to our charity & part of my role is to maximise gift aid income.
One of the areas I am currently concentrating on is sponsorship forms.
Has anybody found a way to ensure that sponsorship forms are clear enough to maximise the potential Gift Aid income? Also, how do other charities encourage staff, volunteers & event participants to highlight the importance of gift aid when gaining sponsorship? At present we are unable to claim a substantial amount of the gift aid indicated on the forms due to incomplete/incorrect information. Can we improve on this or is this the norm?
We do have online facilities available but the majority of our sponsorship still arrives in the traditional paper form.
