Becoming a consultant

in

I know the term consultant is a bit over used in the sector! But I'm interested in doing some freelance fundraising and would be interested in the experience of others who have made this move.

Specifically I would be offering support with planning, trust & statutory fundraising bids and governance issues. But is there more demand for other services?

My understanding is that there is a market for this. But I wonder if I should just pitch just to smaller charities - i.e. those where the fundraising is done by an over-worked CEO!

So far as fees go - I would be at the cheaper end of the scale - just above the daily cost of an inhouse fundraiser.

Thanks for any thoughts! As you can see i'm still at the ideas stage...
