How to approach when a trustee is trustee of several grant-making trusts?

Is there any perceived wisdom/ways of working this?

I am currently looking at a particular trust which makes grants to charities in our area. I can see that one of the trustees is also a trustee of several other (family) trusts which may also be worth approaching for a grant.

Needless to say, our initial letter to them will be reasonably similar as their criteria are similar, but I don't want it to look like I'm issuing a standard letter.

Should I write to one trust and explain that I've seen other "related" trusts and would like to apply to all. Do I do a letter to the Trustee Management company asking them to refer it to all the appropriate trustees, or should I write to the trustee himself (he is contact for one of the trusts) asking him?

Thanks (and apologies in advance if I don't acknowledge any replies straight away - much needed short break coming up!).
