Grantseeking in Canada vs. the UK

Hi Everyone,

I had such useful responses from my previous question posted in the 'jobs forum' I thought I would utilise this resource again, this time with a very specific request.
I will be moving to London from Toronto, Canada in the middle of August and am looking for a job in the fundraising field. I am currently working at Parkinson Society Canada as a Corporate and Foundation Officer, where I develop and manage fundraising and stewardship programmes in support of major gifts from corporations and trusts.

I have a job interview next Thursday June 17th for a Trusts Officer position. In preparation for the interview, I would really like to talk with a trusts fundraiser currently working in the UK in order to get a sense of the differences and similarities between trust fundraising in the UK and Canada. If anyone is willing to chat with me prior to this, please post your contact details on this forum or email me at sarahstuewe@gmail.com and I will give you a phone call at your convenience. Or, alternately, I could email or post questions, however, I think a quick phone call (15 minutes maximum) would be more efficient. My goal is to get a sense of the process of trust fundraising in the UK versus the process of trust fundraising in Canada. My hunch is that they are very similar; however, I would like to discuss this with an experienced trusts fundraiser.

I understand asking an unknown fundraiser to help me in my job interview may be seen as a bit presumptuous; however, I think it could also be of interest to learn about trust fundraising in Canada, whether out of interest or the possibility of working in Canada at some stage.

Thanks in advance. Also, for your information, I have also contacted several people within my own network who are also working to help me connect with a trusts fundraiser in the UK.
