How far to press a donor to pay up?

Hi all
we are a small charity with a wide range of donors, but we have been struggling recently with one donor (a corporate) who are being slow to pay our promised grant. They give us a fairly large % of our overall income and have funded us in the past, and we have a positive relationship. They have always been slow in processing payment, but this year, they seem to be unbelievably slow, taking - until now - 6 months to process payment of the grant and we still have not received it. They say that they are going to give us our promised grant, but it is being held up due to administration burdens their end - getting the various sign offs and so on. This delay is now starting to cause us some financial problems as we have planned for the grant to come in, and I am now wondering how far you would push them to pay, given we are wary of demanding the money (its a voluntary grant after all!) or panicking them with doom and gloom in case they take flight and don't fund us at all. Its a delicate one, any thoughts??
