Diageo to support NI Hospice

Drinks giant Diageo has named Northern Ireland Hospice Care as its Charity of the Year.

The annoucment will see Diageo NI working in partnership with NI Hospice Care to support the organisation through employee volunteering, fundraising and providing resources and experience to help meet its goals.

"This partnership goes beyond fundraising and will involve close integration between Diageo and NI Hospice Care," Clare Strawson of Diageo said.

The partnership is the latest in Diageo NI's ongoing citizenship programme which has seen the company donate over £310,000 to a cross section of charities through the Diageo Northern Ireland Community Awards scheme.

The Hospice has to raise around £6.5 millon each year, the biggest fundraising target in Northern Ireland.
