Cork's tenure as European Capital of Culture has attracted major sponsorship from the business community.

Organisers of Cork 2005 have raised ‚€6.4 million in sponsorship to date, with major support from AIB, Musgrave, Thomas Crosbie Holdings and Heineken.

Actor and author Pauline McLynn and radio presenter Tom Dunne are fronting a World Vision campaign to recruit 200 child sponsors in Cork.
