Tesco has today handed over a cheque for £2.5 million to mark the end of its 2003 Charity of the Year campaign, the Building Blocks Appeal.
The figure has been reached by many of Tesco's staff getting involved in fundraising events and activities. The sum includes a 20% top-up provided by the Tesco Community Trust.
