St Dunstan's avoids upcoming Royal Mail price rise

St Dunstan's, the charity for blind ex-service men and women, is aiming to cut fundraising costs by switching postal providers before the Royal Mail price hike on 2 April.

In moving provider, it is benefiting from a freeze in postal costs until the end of 2007. This price freeze means that St Dunstan's will not be affected by any postage increase should rival operators raise their prices in line with Royal Mail.

Post-Switch provides an analysis of a company's or charity's annual postage spend and recommends where the best cost savings within the necessary delivery time frame can be found. After Post-Switch has negotiated the best rate, the operator will collect and sort the mailing and then put it into Royal Mail's downstream commercial network for final delivery by the postman.

Post-Switch already handles over one million items of mail per month and is working with high volume mailers like Marie Curie and NSPCC.
