New Director General at PDSA

Veterinary charity PDSA has appointed Jan McLoughlin, its Director of Veterinary Services since 2003, as its new Director General. She will succeed Marilyn Rydström on her retirement at the end of June after more than nine years in post.

McLoughlin was selected from more than 40 candidates, most of them external, by by a panel of the charity's Trustees.

A biochemist with an MSc in microbiology, McLoughlin's career before the PDSA was mainly in the food and drink industry in a variety of operational and senior management roles.

She joined PDSA in 2001 in the role of Business Development Director, taking responsibility for leading a number of new business initiatives within the veterinary department.
