Easyfundraising.org.uk raises £500,000 for charities

Shopping website easyfundraising.org.uk has now helped good causes across the UK raise over £500,000 simply by generating commission each time their supporters shop online.

The site features links to over 600 online retailers including Argos, Next, Amazon, M&S, eBay, Woolworths, Direct Line, Screwfix, Interflora, Staples, and Expedia. When shoppers make a purchase, a free cash donation is generated from the retailer for the shopper's chosen good cause.

Easyfundraising's Becky Coleman said: "Asking supporters to donate again and again is difficult at the best of times, but particularly as money becomes tighter. The beauty of easyfundraising is that supporters don’t need to put their hands in their pockets to raise funds".

Easyfundraising is confident that Christmas will prove successful for its partner charities with "78% of shoppers intending to buy presents online this year" according to Coleman.

Easyfundraising now features a product comparison service. Price Checker compares thousands of products and prices from easyfundraising retailers, allowing shoppers to save money while continuing to help their chosen cause.

The site's search engine, easysearch.org.uk, is also generating income for charities: "every search supporters make generates a small donation", adds Coleman. Over 6 million searches have already been made through easysearch.

Neither service charges charities or users to use them. Any UK charity, good causes and non profit organisation can register to use easyfundraising and easysearch, including schools and nurseries, sports clubs, youth groups such as brownies and scouts, community groups, churches and individuals undertaking sponsored events and challenges.
