National Arts Fundraising School starts next week

Training and consultancy provider The Management Centre is hosting the biannual National Arts Fundraising School from 1 to 6 November. The intensive six-day training course is tailored for fundraisers and development officers working in the arts, and covers a wide range of fundraising techniques and strategies.

Bernard Ross, Director of The Management Centre, said: "It's an incredibly challenging environment for those tasked with raising funds in the arts, especially now. The results of our recent global fundraising confidence survey suggest that private giving in arts, heritage and cultural organisations will be worst hit amongst all not-for-profits.

"Plus, with another round of public sector funding cuts on the horizon, it is a double-whammy. Fundraisers and development officers are having to work harder and smarter than ever before."

The school includes modules for specific income sources such as major appeals, legacies, the National Lottery, trusts and foundations, local authority funds, and corporate sponsorship.

The school features guest speakers including Tim Glass, Director of The Ellerman Foundation, who will speak on trusts and foundations, and Howard Lake of UK Fundraising, who will address fundraising using social media.
