PDSA's retail Gift Aid programme raises £1m in two years

Veterinary charity PDSA has generated £1 million in additional income after it introduced a scheme to attract Gift Aid on qualifying donated goods.

Since 2007, over 70,000 people have signed Gift Aid declarations when donating their unwanted clothes, books and home furnishings to PDSA shops.

Donors can also register for Gift Aid online for items collected by the charity's van drivers.

PDSA expects to raise £400,000 in Gift Aid on donated items in the next year.
