WaterAid's iPhone app asks for small donations

Submitted by howardlake on 28 November, 2009 - 01:13.

WaterAid has launched ToiletFinder UK, an iPhone application that uses geolocation to find public toilets in the UK.

The free 'app' is already number 14 in the lifestyle category for iPhone apps. It was created by French agency BeTomorrow to mark World Toilet Day on 19 November.

It can be used to locate the nearest public toilet(s) to your location and it displays them in map or list format.

The toilet database is created by users, and all users are encouraged to add new or flag up missing toilets.

The application can be downloaded from the Apple Store using iTunes, or directly on an iPhone.

Users of the app are encouraged to show their appreciation for the tool by making a small donation to WaterAid using the iPhone.
