DFID offers funding to local UK groups forging overseas links

The Department for International Development (DFID) has announced The Global Community Links programme, which will help support UK community groups forging links with communities in the world's poorest countries.

The programme, managed by the British Council, will offer workshops and grants to community groups such as scout troops, Women’s Institutes and church groups who have forged links with developing countries. DFID is offering £3 million over three years to help local groups to strengthen their global link, learn and share knowledge about global development issues, or involve other people and other community groups in their link.
