The Cancer Research Campaign has won the award for Best Public Sector and Charity Web site in the New Media Age Effectiveness Awards, organised by New Media Age magazine and The Times. The judges praised the site's presentation of regional fundraising events and the secure online donation facility.
The Cancer Research Campaign has also been nominated for the prize for best non-commercial Web site at this year's UK Web Awards sponsored by Marketing, Yell and Internet.Works magazine. Other nominations go to the RSPCA and Red Mole student magazine. The 1997 winner was Amnesty International for its refugee campaign, and the winner in 1996 was OneWorld Onlines.
