Independent Christmas appeal

This year's appeal by the Independent newspaper is on behalf of Hope for Children. While the newspaper today mentions the children's charity's Web site address and a freephone donation number, there is no mention of tax-payer status on the donation form printed on the newspaper's donation form. Either the newspaper or the charity has therefore missed the opportunity of recouping 28% of the tax paid on many donors' donations.
