Charity walkers reach £1 million

Submitted by paulartherton on 20 July, 2005 - 00:00.

Participants in the Ulster Cancer Foundation's Ben Nevis walk will reach £1 million raised over the last five years when the next walk begins in August. 3,000 people have scaled the 4,408ft summit since the walks began in 2000.

Neill Granger, Development Officer with UCF, said the Ben Nevis challenge was one of their most successful events.
"This money will provide a better future for people with cancer in Northern Ireland, by helping fund our vital patience care services, cancer research and cancer prevention campaigns, " he said.

This year the event will take place over four weekends, departing 19th August, 16th September, 30th September and 14th October.
