I have received a mailing from Social Partnership Marketing about a new
publication "Invisible Grantmakers 99" - purporting to have identified 92
unpublished trusts, not featured in CAF,DSC,Trust Monitor or Trust Watch.
Does anyone know anything about Robert Pike or Social Partnership
Marketing??

Unpublished Grantmakers
I work as a freelance prospect researcher, and I subscribe to Invisible Grantmakers (well established grant-makers). I was recently editor of New Trust Update at Factary (newly registered grant-makers). It’s a pretty straightforward process identifying and researching grant-making trusts that are not in the main DSC directories. I recently found a book in my local library, setting out the process, that DSC published in 1988.
Newly registered grant makers don’t necessarily have a lot of money initially, yet it is surprising how many remain “unpublished” even after five – ten years.
RE: Unpublished Grantmakers
We ordered Invisible Grantmakers last year for the first time, and like you was very wary of a publication we had never heard of!
I undertook some research into the report and even asked for a sample page to be sent to me so i could see the format, which was sent out promptly.
Once we had decided to give Invisible Grantmakers a try we had no trouble in ordering or receiving the report.
In fact we have ordered it again this year!
The report is a useful tool if you have wide ranging charitable objectives. If your organisation is very limited in the work it carries out or in the geographical area it supports you may struggle to find Trusts through this report which fit, as obviously the report is not tailored to specific areas.
Hope this has been of some help!
RE: Unpublished Grantmakers
I've received one of those letters too, and was wondering the same thing as you!
Sounds dubious - as are all those things that are too good to be true...
Anyone know anything?
Thanks
