Hello;
I'm currently looking into the purchase of glass display cabinets for
merchandise. Do you know whether it's possible to buy these secondhand?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Furniture, including office and store supplies are available for re-sale
here in US. I recommend: -office/business furniture and supply
stores--ask them for the used furniture (may be in back room)
-find out if any department stores 1) are going out of business and
selling off their equipment, or 2) would be willing to sell you an old
display case they have in storage
-contact other places that use display cases: museums, jewelry stores
and ask if they have any used cases they would be willing to sell, or
donate.
Good Luck!

I think the organisation you may be thinking of is now called 'in kind
direct' (used to be gifts in kind) if anyone is interested I have their
details - we belong and have some excellent bargains including an industrial
shredder worth around £600 for about £60! the annual fee is dependent in
some circumstances where you are located I.e. discounts in some areas - I
think otherwise its over £200 but definitely worth it -they send you a
statement at the end of the year showing how much you have saved. Its a good
source of basic office stationery and many other items as well also
clothing, household furniture toys etc etc

Try any of your local large office based businesses and ask when they asre
refurbishing. alternatively, there is a firm which specializes in selling
cut price office eqpt. to charities - there is a sign up fee. Helpfully, I
cannot remember the name - sorry

Hi Jacquie
If you look in good old Exchange and Mart they have auctions listed which
regularly include display equipment, as a side bet try this list of
Auctioneers from Insolvency.co.uk
http://www.insolvency.co.uk/auctions/index.htm they sell off the assets of
failed businesses.
I hope this helps
Best Regards
Daniel
