Just a test post really, but anyone got any ideas, questions or words of wisdom that they want to share with other Fundraisers in the South West?

Re: Use of this forum
Yes, the idea of this "sub forum" was to offer a resource specifically for fundraisers in the South West to ask questions of and seek advice from other fundraisers in the region.
Although set up by the Institute of Fundraising South West Group, this was not necessarily intended to be a resource just for members of the Institute at this stage, although you are most welcome to join David :)
The forum has been dormant to date, purely because it has not been publicised. This may shortly change.
In the meantime any discussion of issues relating to fundraising in the region is most welcome.
Re: Use of this forum
Ah, please forgive me - I'm not a member of the Institute of Fundraising. In my enthusiasm I misunderstood the nature of this section and thought it was simply a regional group in the UK Fundraising forum.

Re: Use of the IoF SW forum
Yes, by all means introduce yourself here if you're a member of the Institute of Fundraising South West regional group. That could prove a useful tool for other members or even prospective members of the group.
Suppliers, if they are members, can mention the service that they provide, but I'm usually on hand to delete or encourage the re-wording of any messages that read as blatant commercial adverts. See UK Fundraising's FAQ for info on commercial ads:

Re: Use of this forum
"Keep the faith!"
Has anyone any thoughts on opening a SW networking section here to introduce ourselves to one another and discuss our projects?
I hesitated to suggest this because not everyone here is a fundraiser (me, for example) and there might be a danger of some suppliers using their personal introduction to advertise blatantly, and also responding with advertising to the introductions of newcomers. But if that potential problem could be overcome, I think such a section could become a valuable resource.
